Lusaka Indian Ladies Association

Celebrating culture, serving community, in the heart of Lusaka.

LILA brings Indian women in Lusaka together through cultural events, charitable work, and the bonds of shared heritage

What we do

Three threads run through everything at LILA.

Cultural Events

From the colours of Holi to the lights of Diwali, from classical dance to festive feasts, we honour the traditions passed down through generations. At LILA, Indian culture is not a memory. It is something we actively celebrate, share, and pass on

Charity Work

Rooted in the Indian value of seva, selfless service, LILA has always believed that a community is only as strong as what it gives. We fundraise, volunteer, and support local causes, honouring both our Indian heritage and our Zambian home

Community Activities

Built on the Indian tradition of togetherness, LILA is a sisterhood that understands the unique experience of carrying one culture in your heart while building a life in another. Here, you are never far from home

Our Mission

The Lusaka Indian Ladies Association exists to keep Indian heritage alive, build meaningful bonds between women, and give back to the community we call home. Proudly connected to the Indian High Commission of Lusaka, LILA stands as a symbol of the enduring relationship between India and Zambia. Through cultural celebrations, charitable work, and the simple warmth of coming together, we honour our roots while embracing the country that has welcomed us for generations
